Shenango Deck

Campgrounds, Pennsylvania, RV Life No Comments

Once we arrived in Pennsylvania this year we decided to add a planter to our deck. It has been mostly fun but the flowers we chose only looked good when they were blooming which wasn’t very much of the summer. Here is Joshua and our neighbor Emma helping to clean up the planter before Nathan built a walkway…

Here is a picture of the front of the deck. The two bushes on the ends are blueberry bushes, the dead one in the middle is also a blueberry that I am hoping will come back next year. The ground cover is ever bearing strawberries…

I did get a few blueberries from each of my plants this year so I am really looking forward to seeing how many I get next year. Here is a close up of one of our strawberries that are out right now…

Here is a picture of the side of the deck. We planted perrenial flowers that I am going to dig up soon, blackberries, and raspberries….

A close up of one of the blackberry plants…

We had one raspberry plant that produced this year but now looks like it is dead… hmmm… hoping it will come back up next year since the berries were delicious. Here is one of the raspberry plants that is growing like a weed but hasn’t given us a berry yet….

My mom also gave Nathan a new fire ring for his birthday so here is a picture of the new fire ring…

Nathan has the cooking plate over the fire because we buy amazing fresh corn and he boils pots outside so he can fit more at a time.

Keeping Current

Georgia, RV Life No Comments

Or at least trying to! :) After the FOTR Rally we drove back to Statesboro where we will be spending the next 3 months. We aren’t doing too much so far. We are just doing a lot of schoolwork. My mom and I have hired ourselves a personal trainer, Fit by Julie. She comes to the RV park twice a week. We figured this would be a good solution to getting in shape. If she can bring the items in her car then I can carry the same items in the RV. So hopefully we can get into the habit of working out with Julie for the next few months and then keep it up while we aren’t in Statesboro. We will see. We had our first workout on Thursday and I am extremely sore!! My mom isn’t too bad so I am guessing she just didn’t push it as hard.

I am going to start Samantha on guitar lessons in a couple of weeks and tomorrow she is going to a cheerleading camp at GSU called Cheerleader for a Day. She gets to learn from them and then the kids perform at the halftime of the basketball game tomorrow. I will try to get some good pictures of her at the halftime. Timmy is thinking that he wants to take gymnastics lessons so I may sign him up for some lessons next month. We will have to see if we can come up with something to entertain Joshua…

Anyway… if you don’t see any updates for awhile it is just because we aren’t doing anything worth mentioning! :)

Christmas in Statesboro

Family Fun, Georgia, RV Life No Comments

Christmas Eve was a little different than usual for us this year. Since we didn’t get to church Mrs. Claus had to deliver the Christmas pajamas while at grandma’s house for dinner. Here are the kids in their pajamas….

Then they left pumpkin cookies for Santa and clementine slices for the reindeer….

A picture of the tree with the presents from mom, dad, and grandma…

The presents from Santa Claus…

And what Dory thought of the aftermath the next morning….

I am just a BIT late updating. I should be caught up again tomorrow! :)

Happy Birthday Dory

On November 27 Dory turned 1!! Here is a picture of Dory. She has definitely grown since May…

I also wanted to show a picture that my mom took while I was driving down to Tampa. Here is Timmy laying on Dory with Tinkerbell laying on Timmy…

For the last 10 days or so we have been in Tampa. It is one of my favorite stops other than the fact that there aren’t a lot of kids here. They have free breakfast and lunch although we usually only get breakfast. They have nice paved roads for bike riding and a heated pool and jacuzzi so we have been relaxing and getting school done and then going out in the afternoons for pool time and bike rides. Nathan and I go back to the jacuzzi most nights to relax. Tomorrow we leave for Disney to start our 4 days of the Focht Family Christmas. Since we don’t usually have the whole family with us I will try to take a lot of pictures and keep updated. We are showing up a day early so that I can go around and look at all the Christmas displays at the different hotels.

My Baby is Gone

Today Josh got his first Big Boy haircut. He decided that he wanted spiky hair like Timmy and since he needed a haircut anyway I decided to give it a try. It still needs to be cleaned up a bit but I am going to let the barber at Disney do that. Here is my little boy looking too grown up….
