Our New Home

Georgia, RV Life No Comments

As promised, here are some pictures of our new home. First the outside of the fifth wheel…

In the nose of the fifth wheel is our bedroom. I love the fact that I have a bed I can walk around and that there is a cabinet where we can put a washer/dryer in….

In the hallway is our new bathroom. It has a smaller shower which is fun when you shave your legs but other than that I now have more cabinets and more counter space…

After the hallway is the living room/kitchen. Here is a picture taken from the hallway showing our huge TV that we watch the football games from our two recliners (I added these comments for Al)….

My kitchen is smaller and we do not have a dining table anymore but we do have bigger bedrooms so I guess you have to choose where your space is. Here is a picture taken from the kids’ bedroom that shows one of the recliners…

Now one of the MAJOR reasons we bought this… the second bathroom…

This next picture I am including so you can see what was installed for a before picture. This shows the two hydraulic beds in the back. We should be done with the “new” bedroom for the kids in the next couple of days so once everything is done I will post after pictures…

Dawn and Twilight

Family Fun, Georgia, RV Life No Comments

Two weeks before Christmas equals two guinea pigs named Dawn and Twilight. The kids loved their cousin’s guinea pig so much that we had decided to buy them one for Christmas. After reading about them we decided that it would be best to get two so they would have a friend. We were going to give the kids the cage and all the stuff that goes with it on Christmas morning and then let them pick out the pet the day after Christmas but they were going on sale and we were worried they would be sold out or picked over so we surprised them tonight and let them have that gift early. Here is a picture of Dawn and Twilight in their new home….

Big Changes

Georgia, RV Life No Comments

I still have a lot to go back and update but my mother is pestering to put pictures up of her new home. When we arrived in Atlanta my mom’s truck camper had a corner of the floor rip out again. She decided that God was telling her that she should look for a new home sooner rather than later. We started looking at some of the dealerships near Atlanta and found a beautiful 36′ Montana High Country. As soon as both of us walked in to it we knew it was mom’s. It just looked like her.

Here is her new living room. Her whole truck camper could fit in the living area.

Here are her comfortable recliners and her desk. I came over to visit a lot the first few weeks just to nap in her chair…

Her big TV and her fireplace…

Her kitchen…

Her bedroom…

Her dresser…

Her bed…

AND her bathroom with a REAL shower and a vessel sink…

Now for the BIG surprise…. we bought a new truck and traded the RV for a new fifth wheel toyhauler last week. I will try to put pictures up tomorrow.

Rolling Down the Road

Maryland, Pennsylvania, RV Life No Comments

It feels  like I have gone back in time 2 years. We are on the road driving from DC back to our seasonal site in Pennsylvania. Since we only have the truck with us, Nathan is driving and I am relaxing. I definitely like traveling in the RV much better when I don’t have to drive long hours! :)

I did work on pictures while we were sitting in DC the last couple of days while Nathan was working in Baltimore but the connection at the campground was too slow for me to put the pictures up on the server, so now that they are up I will go back and try to do some catching up today.

If I don’t get all the way through my pictures this is what we have been up to…. Samantha turned 11 in August and Timmy turned 8 in September! We left last week and spent a week at Hershey where Nathan and I enjoyed our annual spa day. Then we made lots of chocolate for Timmy’s birthday and explored the RV show where I think we have decided what our next home will be. Nathan has designed a 45′ fifth wheel with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths! We just have to finalize our decision as to who will build it and then come up with the down payment.

Next we drove to DC and spent 3 days as tourists. We toured the White House, Washington Monument, the Museum of American History, the Museum of Natural History, the Air and Space Museum, the Lincoln Memorial, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Franklin Roosevelt Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Capitol building, and the National Archives. All in all… in 3 days we walked 26.4 miles!! No wonder the kids kept saying their legs were tired!

Now we are headed back to Pennsylvania to finish off the season. We will head back to Georgia in November but we won’t make it back to Statesboro until November 30 so we can spend some time in Atlanta visiting my brother. Now to catch everyone up with pictures from this summer….

Funny Use of Jeep

Pennsylvania, RV Life No Comments

This event happened while my back was out so I could only stand up for about five minutes. Otherwise I would have gone outside and taken better pictures. One of the work campers came in while the ground was wet and tried to perform a 3 point turn to get into his site instead of backing in. It wasn’t successful and he was stuck heading towards the pavilion. Nathan went out and hooked the winch on his Jeep to the bumper of his RV and helped drag him back up the hill….

I wish I had been able to get better pictures but oh well….
