I almost forgot. My poor mom has spent the last two nights on a crappy chair at the hospital staying with me. Today is her 67th birthday!! Happy birthday mom!! She is going to the Buhl Mansion this afternoon and treating herself to a massage. She deserves it!! So for her friends who read this… give her a call and wish her well!
It is going to take me awhile to update on the ski trip but at least I will start tonight! :) One of the first things that we did while in Vermont was to go to the Von Trapp Family Lodge to see the Sugar House. This is one of the things that we have wanted to see but it wasn’t the right time of year the last time we were in Vermont.

Once it is boiled down they tap it into buckets….
On this day they were making syrup on the snow where they would further boil the syrup down until it reached soft candy temps and then they would pour it over snow. It made a taffy like candy that was delicious!

Of course we had to go through the touristy stuff, so we went to Cold Hollow Cider Mill for cider doughnuts, Cabot Creamery, and Lake Champlain Chocolates. Here is a picture of our three kids and Blake’s two kids enjoying their candy. Blake is Nathan’s business partner and he and his family joined us on our trip.
Timmy was riding his bike the other day and I noticed that his knees were touching the handlebars so I decided to get him a bigger bike. Since he was getting a new bike I called Josh over to try sitting on Timmy’s bike to see if he could fit on it. He started to pedal and I realized he wasn’t tipping so I let go. He can now ride a bike without traning wheels. Here is a picture of Josh riding Timmy’s old bike…

In March Timmy had his first Pinewood Derby. He decided he wanted a cool car instead of a fast car. Here is his car that he made…

Timmy ended up coming in 3rd overall for the local competition!
In the middle of February there was a freak storm in Statesboro that brought with it…. SNOW!! I have been in the Boro before when it snowed but this time it was really coming down and it actually stuck to the ground and stayed. The kids all went out and had a snowball fight. The only problem occured when Timmy put snow down my mom’s neck. Timmy and Josh had the same sweatshirt on and mom went to retaliate against Timmy and instead she pushed Josh face down into the snow. Josh was not very happy with grandma! :)
