Washington DC – Part I

Family Fun, RV Life, Washington DC No Comments

I had too many pictures of Washington DC to put in only one post so I am going to break it up into three. Our first stop in Washington DC was the White House but you can’t even have a purse with you so I don’t have any pictures. I was a bit disappointed in the tour. You can only take photo ID in with you and the only places you see are rooms that I could google to look at. Oh well…after going back to the car for our purses and camera we headed to the Washington Monument…

Here is a picture of Nathan and the kids waiting for the elevator…

A view of the White House from the Washington Monument…

A view of the Lincoln Memorial from the Washington Monument…

A view of the Jefferson Memorial from the Washington Monument…

A quote from George Washington that I particularly liked…

And the last picture for this post is Samantha and Josh at the Museum of Natural History watching a movie on evolution…

Timmy’s Birthday at Hershey

Family Fun, Pennsylvania, RV Life No Comments

Timmy turned 8 this September. We decided to go to the Hershey RV show and to Washington, DC so we actually celebrated his birthday while at Hershey. First, before we left we had a party at the RV with Aunt Christina. Here is Timmy with his cupcake…

And opening his new Nintendo DSi…

I don’t usually put more than 8 pictures in a post but looking at it this one will have 12. When we got to Hershey Timmy wanted to try making his own candy bar at the new attraction…

First everyone has to get aprons, gloves, and hair coverings on…

After choosing your chocolate (our only choice was milk but dark and white our coming), you choose up to three inclusions…

Next you can choose if you want sprinkles on top of your candy bar…

Confirm your choices…

Next you get to watch your candy bar being made…

When your candy bar comes to an inclusion station that you have chosen the inclusions are deposited into your chocolate shell…

After all of the inclusions have been added it runs through flowing chocolate to cover the bar…

While your candy bar is cooling you get to design your cover….

Here is a picture of all of our candy bar covers…

It’s a New Dawn, It’s a New Day…

Last night we put the guinea pigs in their cage and let them settle in. Dawn kept to the corner the whole night and barely moved. This morning I promised the kids that we could take them out and hold them. We took Twilight out and she cuddled and cooed. We took Dawn out and she chewed on my shirt, my watch, and then on me! Coupled with her hiding in the corner of the cage we decided to trade her in. The pet store gives you 15 days for trading in or changing your mind, or in case the animal gets sick or dies. So after lunch we boxed Dawn up and traded her in for a different guinea pig. We kept the name so we have a “new” Dawn. I am happy to report that the new Dawn is quite the cuddler!!

Dawn and Twilight

Two weeks before Christmas equals two guinea pigs named Dawn and Twilight. The kids loved their cousin’s guinea pig so much that we had decided to buy them one for Christmas. After reading about them we decided that it would be best to get two so they would have a friend. We were going to give the kids the cage and all the stuff that goes with it on Christmas morning and then let them pick out the pet the day after Christmas but they were going on sale and we were worried they would be sold out or picked over so we surprised them tonight and let them have that gift early. Here is a picture of Dawn and Twilight in their new home….

60’s Weekend

Campgrounds, Family Fun, Pennsylvania No Comments

My mom requested that I post a picture for her friends of the family dressed up for 60’s weekend. My mom, Samantha, and I were all in matching dresses. I found a t-shirt for Timmy and only recently realized that the reason it is so big is that it is an adults shirt. Joshua is in tie-dye as well but his is because I acidently put his pants in bleach.
