Disney Drama

Thursday morning was spent with Nathan getting his beard braided for Halloween while I got allergy shots. Here are Nathan’s braids….

Then we headed to the Kingdom after lunch. Here is a picture of Josh and Samantha with Snow White…

Friday we went to the pool. This sounded like a great idea. They have a new pool with a water slide and a splash zone area for the smaller kids as well as a jacuzzi for the adults. Samantha was playing in the splash zone with her brothers although technically she is too tall for it (parents were in there as well). She was getting up off the slide and cut her foot open. I was shocked at how many levels you have to go up before you get help. I asked the lifeguard if they had a first aid kit. They had to get the pool manager. She was only able to give us ice and a band-aid. They had to call the ambulance for further than that. The ambulance cleaned it out and taped it…

Then we ended up taking her to an urgent care center. People were looking like they were dying inside there so Nathan waited for her name to be called while Samantha and I waited outside. While we waited outside we watched a woodpecker…

They decided not to stitch or staple because of where it was. So they used steri strips to close the wound and then we had to keep it wrapped in gauze and an ace bandage for 5 days while she stayed off her feet. Fort Wilderness gave us a wheelchair to use while she needed it. Friday night we already had reservations for dinner and seating for Fantasmic. Here is a picture of Nathan pushing Samantha and Josh in the chair…

I believe she liked being the princess for a few days! :) This is actually the first time that we have been to Fantasmic. Here is a picture of the stage before the show…

And here are two pictures taken during the show…

Another trip to Disney

We woke up early to get going to Disney on October 27. However… the RV wouldn’t start! The kids were not happy about this turn of events. The RV had a problem starting a couple of times while we were in Atlanta and I guess we should have taken care of it. Oh well… we called Cummins and they couldn’t send someone until the next day. We found a mobile repair that came out to the RV park after a couple of hours. He was able to jump start the RV… something about a cylnoid (sp?). We made it to Disney a couple of hours later than we wanted but we made it. Of course the kids wanted to make sure they went to a park so we went to Epcot for a couple of hours because it was the only park still open.

We went on the first ride they saw… Spaceship Earth. I had bought a book on some of the Disney secrets and learned that if you took a picture of the wall on the right just past the cavemen something shows up with the flash…

We also did one more assignment with Kim Possible, this time in Mexico. Here are the kids and Nathan receiving the first clue…

That was pretty much it for the night. Everyone was getting grumpy so we decided to get a good night’s rest and go to Animal Kingdom the next day. Once at Animal Kingdom we went on the Safari ride and then we all went on Kali River Rapids since Josh is big enough to ride it now. We took some pictures of the empty lines so we can remember what they looked like. We figure it will be much more crowded at Christmastime.

Josh discovered characters on this trip so he wanted to meet them all. We actually had to buy him an autograph book because he wanted them to sign his book. Here is his first character that he found… Terk from Tarzan…

Here is a picture of the kids with Goofy and Pluto…

And just as we were leaving Josh spotted the Pooh characters hiding off to the side, so of course we had to turn around and get pictures with them all…

Shopping at Publix

Before we headed back down to Florida my mom and I took a trip to Savannah to run some errands and see my grandfather. We took Josh with us and we stopped at Publix to buy some bread and some cookies for my grandfather. Josh was riding in one of those carts that has steering wheels on it and he looked so cute I had to take a picture of him…

Back in Statesboro

Last Friday we made it back to Statesboro. We haven’t done much this time around so I haven’t taken any pictures. Monday was my father-in-law’s birthday so we went to their house to celebrate. The children are enjoying seeing Nathan’s parents and Samantha has enjoyed seeing her friend Lyndsay again. She asks to play with her everyday so most days after her schoolwork is done and Lyndsay is home from school she is up at the office playing until dinner time. We will leave on Tuesday and head to Disney for our first two weeks of mouse time this year!! We will be there for Halloween again and already have our tickets for Halloween night for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We will also be there for my birthday again. I am looking forward to being back at Fort Wilderness!! :)

Andretti Go-Carts

The last night we were in Atlanta was fun for the grown ups. Nathan has been to high speed go-carts a few times but this was the first time I went with him. It was a bit intimidating but we had a great time. Since I was going and my brother was going my mom offered to watch all 5 grandchildren (!) so that Andrea could go as well. Here is a picture of the sign at the front…

Here is a picture of Tim and Andrea enjoying their night out….

Before getting your helmets on for the go-carts you have to put a head covering on. Nathan decided to ham up the big beard with his covering on. I think he looks like he should be on a big bike…

Here is a picture of the go-cart track…

And a picture of the go-carts…

I was only bumped hard once so I did have a lot of fun. I was in last place the first two races but was finally getting comfortable with going a bit faster for the last race and managed to move up one place from last! :) I am already looking forward to going back the next time we are in Atlanta.
