Once we were off the ride, we spent the rest of the day walking around the Christmas village. The first two pictures are of the Stone Mountain carving and one of the Grist Mill that we saw while Timmy was driving the duck.

While in the village we found an area where the kids could decorate cookies and make some crafts.

After the crafts we went to a country Christmas show, a train ride and also the Polar Express 4-D show. When we got out of the Polar Express it was dark and the nightly parade was starting. Here is a picture of the Coca-Cola bear (sponsor), Bob & Larry (Veggie Tales), and one of Santa.

Next post will be the lights at Lake Lanier…..

Once we got down the mountain, we found out that we had to walk another mile to get to the Duck Ride. The ducks are the vehicles that they used in the military that can drive on the road or in the water. As you get on the ride, they hand everyone a duck quacker to blow on and for a souvenir (yay). Here is Bridgette trying to teach Joshua how to make noise.

And pictures of everyone else with their quackers….

After the duck landed in the water each child was given the opportunity to drive. Josh was so focused on his driving that he wouldn’t turn to look at the camera.

The rest of Stone Mountain is on its way…..

I took SO many pictures this trip that I decided I will make the Stone Mountain trip 5 posts! We got to the campground late on Friday night. Saturday morning we got up and decided that since we were going to the lights that night anyway we would just drive the RV to the park. They took a picture of our whole group before getting on the sky-ride that takes you to the top of the mountain. I tried to put everyone’s name on the picture but it is my mom, Nathan’s parents, Nathan’s sister and one of her friends with us.

On the way up the sky-ride the man driving told us that we could ride back down or that there was a 1.3 mile walk down the other side of the mountain. The kids thought that sounded like fun. We walked around the top for a little bit. Here are some pictures of Nathan with Samantha and Timmy (Josh was on my shoulders), Nathan’s parents, both of our moms, and a picture of a church in the middle of the trees that I thought was pretty.

Next, Christina and her friend Bridgette joined us for the walk down the mountain.

More to follow in next post…..

I got yelled at because I haven’t been updating our blog. :)
So… not too much to share. Samantha and I are catching up with school work. My mom has Timmy reading the Jane and Dick books. Joshua is still trouble. We have them all in swim classes. They are all enjoying them although they only have one class left.
My mom ended up in the local hospital for two days on IV antibiotics. She had been having stomach pains but was trying to ignore them because she had a visit with the gastroenterologist coming up. She finally decided to go to the ER when the pains started causing her to throw up. Ends up she had diverticulitis and her white blood count was very high from the infection so they felt it would be better for her to get the antibiotics in IVs for 48 hours. She is now out but still has to be on the antibiotics orally for 2 weeks. She is ready for them to be done.
For some weird reason I have started having symptoms of hypoglycemia. Unfortunately no matter how careful I am with my eating, food seems to be an enemy right now. No matter what I eat, it causes me to get dizzy. Now I am having bad headaches. I went to the ER a couple of days ago and they said all my blood was normal and sent me on my way. I have an appointment with a doctor today but I am sure they will do the same.
We are supposed to leave Friday for a short trip. We are going to Stone Mountain for the weekend with Nathan’s parents to do a Christmas thing. We usually go to Calloway, but the displays have been the same for the last few years so we decided to try something different. We are also going to try to drive through the light displays at Lake Lanier while we are up there. Then we will visit my brother Sunday-Wednesday and then we will be back in Statesboro for Thanksgiving.
I will take some pictures while we are at Stone Mountain so I can update again. :)

Georgia, RV Life

We arrived in Statesboro on Thursday afternoon. We dropped mom’s trailer off at the RV park and headed to Nathan’s parents house. We called to tell them we had just arrived in Atlanta (sitting in their living room) to find out where they were. They were on their way home from Walmart so we headed out to the driveway to welcome them home. Nathan’s mom was trying to figure out who had an RV like Nathan’s coming down their street until she saw the kids in the driveway. I think she enjoyed the surprise! Samantha stayed the first two nights here with grandma so Samantha is happy. Nathan and Samantha are with his parents at the GSU Homecoming game right now.
I am parked outside of a laundromat because we had a LOT of laundry that needed to be done. Mom is doing the laundry and I just finished scrubbing the RV from back to front. Next we will go get some lunch and then I am going to sign the kids up for swim lessons at Splash in the Boro so they will be ready for warmer weather at the campgrounds that have pools. It is very difficult for me to take the 3 kids swimming because Samantha is the only one who can swim and she isn’t a very strong swimmer. I checked the website this morning and they have a class that runs from 10/29-11/15 so it will be perfect for them. The only bad part is that the class for Josh is for the kids and parents so I will have to get in the pool with him. I have lost a lot of weight since starting the RV lifestyle but I am not to the point that I like being in a bathing suit. :)
