Pacific Ocean Family I

California, Family Fun No Comments

I had so many good pictures (I took 85) that I had a hard time deciding which ones I wanted to put up so I decided I would divide them into three posts. Two posts with pictures of the family and one post with just pictures of the scenery. We had to walk down a rock incline that the kids did very good at. Here is a look at the rocks we climbed down.

Timmy made it down first and went to the edge of where the water was and then a wave hit him and knocked him over. His shoes came off and Nathan had to make the first of a few shoe rescues of the day. First we took pictures of Nathan and I with the kids with the ocean behind us.

Nathan and the kids were enjoying watching the waves…

Timmy and Samantha were playing with the sand…

Until a large wave came too close…

Timmy didn’t appreciate being hit by a wave for the second time…

The weather is so nice that….

I took the kids to the playground…

Then they talked me into taking them to the pool….

Looks like we are turning into the crazy people who are swimming in January but compared to the weather we have been in the last few weeks it is blistering hot. :) Not quite but it is nice to have the windows open all day and a wonderful ocean breeze. Now we are off to put our feet in the Pacific Ocean. Pictures to follow when I get back…

Driving to San Francisco

California, RV Life No Comments

The drive to San Francisco was much easier for me than the drive to Reno. For one it was only half the time. For two, I drove the truck which was much easier for me on the winding mountain roads and city traffic. We checked in to the San Francisco RV Resort early in the afternoon. The windows are all open and the short sleeved shirts are on!! As much as I don’t like CA I will enjoy the next couple of weeks thawing out. :)

San Francisco RV Resort; Pacifica, CA

California, Campgrounds No Comments

The staff is very nice at this park. It is south of San Francisco but within a 20 minute drive of the city. We are in sites #43 & #44 which are both large ocean sites. The sites are very close together.

However, the view would be hard to beat.

Things I like: The view!! The ocean breeze!! Full hookup sites with cable, laundry on site with a dozen washers and dryers.

Things I don’t like: Spaces very close together, pricey but what do you expect from CA near a large city.

Terrible’s Gold Ranch Casino RV Park; Verdi, NV

Campgrounds, Nevada No Comments

Well, although it is named Terrible it is a very nice RV Park. This is off of exit 2 on I-80 West in Nevada. It has a small casino, a gas station with diesel, a Jack in the Box, and a restaurant. I meant to get a picture of our sites this morning before we left and forgot. It had beautiful views of the mountains and is far enough away from Reno to be out of the noise and city but close enough if you have a reason to be there.

Things I like: There are 6 washers and 6 dryers in the laundry room. There is a pool and jacuzzi and beautiful views. Full hookup plus cable.
