George L Smith Campground; Twin City, GA

Campgrounds, Georgia No Comments

If I remember right these are pictures of sites 14 & 19. I also took a picture of the Cypress trees behind my mom’s site.

Things I like: The scenery was beautiful. I wish I had time to take the canoes out on the water and get some more pictures. Since it is a state park, the price is good.

Things I don’t like: Heavy tree cover so bad satellite, if any. Also… since it is a state park it does not have full hookup so although we managed to find a spot we could get satellite once we moved to dump we couldn’t find the magic spot again.

CommerceV3 Fall 2008 Camping Trip

CommerceV3, Georgia No Comments

The camping trip was a lot of fun. It was held at George L Smith state park. Thursday was spent setting up camp and waiting for people to arrive. Friday was field day fun. Nathan came up with a bunch of routine field games. The winners of each event got an entry to be drawn for gift cards. Each employee who participated also got an entry. Here is a picture of Christina (in black), Nathan’s sister, and Anna in a blind race. Apparently they were lead into each other’s path by their callers.

The sack race was run with huge garbage bags in teams of 3. Here is a picture of the first group lined up to start. From left to right in garbage bags is Danny, Justin, me, Doug and Anna. Nathan and Marc can be seen behind.

This is everyone lined up for the water balloon toss… too many to name.

Nathan came up with another game with water balloons modeled on a Survivor challenge. One team had to throw water balloons to each other while another team had sticks and tried to hit them or block them. First team with 3 points won. Nathan and I did pretty good in the middle. I am not sure what I was doing here but it looks like I am about to clock Nathan with the pole.

One of the last games I have a picture of is where you spin around with your head on a pole 10 times and then try to race to the finish line. Here is Danny, Nathan and I getting ready to spin…

We also had 3 legged races, egg toss, egg in a spoon race, and tug-a-war. While the adults played, the kids relaxed in the hammocks while Josh decided to stick by Scotty, one of Nathan’s Jeep buddies that was the cook for the weekend. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the gift cards. Since Jerry won almost every event he went home with the most gift cards. Nathan and I got one card for Carrabbas so we are going out on a date on Monday night. :)

Of course, since it is the nature of the company, not everyone stayed disconnected for the weekend. This is Nathan’s partner Blake (on right) and Huey taking a computer break…

Unfortunately it rained on Friday night and most of Saturday but we still had a lot of fun and it was great having Scotty there to cook. Nathan’s dad drove over both days to help cook as well so Nathan was able to actually spend time with everyone instead of cooking the whole time like the last trip. The company has decided that they are going to have two camping trips a year because everyone has enjoyed the last two so much.

Toy Story Mania

We were planning on going to extra hours for Hollywood Studios on Monday night but we were too tired so instead we got up for the extra hours in the morning on Tuesday. On the advice of Marc, we went straight to the Fast Pass distribution. Our Fast Pass was for 9:15 so we got in line. We were able to get two rides in before our Fast Pass time so we ended up getting to ride 3 times! Definitely worth getting up early. Here is Nathan and Samantha right before the ride started.

When we were waiting in line for the second ride the boys decided they were tired of standing up and gave Nathan some exercise…

Nathan was thrilled that he was able to get the high score twice in a row so we took pictures of his high score being displayed…

After our 3 rides we went on Star Tours once more. Then since it was our last day we decided to go to the 50’s Prime Time Cafe for lunch. It is designed to look like you are eating in a 50’s kitchen complete with TVs that show clips from 50’s shows. Here is a picture of the kids sitting in one of the living rooms waiting for our name to be called.

After lunch we headed back to camp. I haven’t figured out how Nathan does it without falling over, but he grabs Josh’s handlebars and pulls him when he starts to fall behind. Here is Nathan towing him back to camp.

After we got back I decided that I would take the kids to one of the scheduled activities. Unfortunately nobody showed up for the activity but us, including Disney staff. But I let the kids play on the playground for awhile before we headed back.

Tuesday night my cousin Brian and his wife Erica came for dinner. I forgot to get a picture. :( I made dinner and Brian brought the dessert. He made brownies and lemon bars. Both were absolutely delicious. They came over to check out Fort Wilderness while they were there because Erica is trying to get Brian to go camping for a weekend. :)

When Nathan took Misty out for her nightly walk he heard scurrying. This was the second night that he opened the door to an armadillo at our campsite. I was able to get a picture of him as he was running to the site next to us.

Wednesday morning we headed out to get back to Georgia for Nathan’s company camping trip. We made it to camp by 5:00 or so and hooked up as it was getting dark and then Nathan and I drove to his parents to pick up a trailer and then went shopping in Savannah to get groceries. We didn’t get back to camp until after 1:00! We ended up with 7 carts of groceries and then had to store all of them in coolers and boxes before leaving the parking lot!

Kim Possible England Spoiler

England was much better. You are after Duff Killigan to stop him from spreading grass seeds all over the world and then causing it to rain to create golf courses. You start out looking for a toy soldier in a window. When you find it Flynn Cognito starts to talk through the soldier giving you information.

Next you are sent to the Tea Shop where you have to give a coded message to the shop keeper. When you give him the message he gives you a tea bag. The type of tea is the answer you need to get your next clue.

The next clue sends you to a sports store where you have to find a shield that has Killigan’s name on it. You trigger it and it turns around giving you another clue.

That clue sends you to a garden where you are looking for a butterfly exhibit. That triggers the butterfly wings to open giving you another clue that tells you that Killigan’s thugs are at the Rose and Crown where they are being arrested thanks to you.

Now you have to track down Killigan. You find a window that is his apartment and Wade triggers the weather so that the window starts filling with water. You can’t really see the water in the picture.

Now that Killigan has been stopped it is time to return the Kimmunicator…

Kim Possible France Spoiler

We were very disappointed in France! In France you are looking for Senor Senior and Senor Junior and trying to destroy a procrastinator ray. You start out looking for a location and when you are there a picture of you shows up on the Kimmunicator. The picture I took doesn’t look very good but here it is…

Next it sends you to a window and a tower in the window has a satellite dish pop out of it to send a transmission…

After the window you are sent in search of perfume. You find a large sign with a push button that makes a spraying noise so that Wade can get the scent. However, there is nothing sprayed and nothing that you can smell.

The next place you go to is the lobby of the theater where you have to find a particular gargoyle. When you are in front of the gargoyle he sticks his tongue out at you.

The final task is to find an old fashioned camera. This is probably the most disappointing part of this country. You cannot re-trigger the last event and six people cannot look into one camera. I am told that when you look into the camera you see the ray and it turns on itself and explodes. Here is a picture of the camera…

The last part is to return your Kimmunicator to a cart that is supposed to be an artist’s cart.

This was our least favorite of the four countries we have tested and I am glad we did it first so we didn’t end the day on a bad note!
